The Care Standards Tribunal operates under procedural rules set out in secondary legislation. This legislation is The Protection of Children – Vulnerable Adults and Care Standards Tribunal Regulations – Statutory Instrument 2002 number 816 as amended by the following secondary legislation:

The above procedural rules set out the responsibilities of the parties to appeal in providing information and evidence as well as the responsibilities of the President, Tribunal panel and the Secretary in handling appeals.
