Applications we can consider
The Tribunal can consider applications from individuals:
- to have their names removed from the PoCA list and the PoVA list;
- to have any prohibition from teaching, acting as a proprietor of an independent school or working in schools or further education institutions lifted;
- who are subject to a Court Order banning them working with children to have the order revoked;
- on the grounds that they are now suitable to work with children/vulnerable adults.
However, such applications can only be considered after a minimum period of time has elapsed. This period of time is 5 years if under 18 years old when included on the relevant list, when prohibited from teaching or working in schools or when the court order was made. Otherwise the minimum period for making an application to the Tribunal is 10 years.
